Take all talk of suicide seriously, contact the suicide helpline at 1-800-784-2433 or have the family member taken to an emergency room immediately to receive help.

What support groups are available for family members and/or consumers?
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Louisiana offers family educational classes and/or support through its Journey of Hope and Visions for Tomorrow programs.
